From this chart you can see that Swansea win only 1 of the 15 games where they have 11 or fewer attempts on goal and only lost 3 of the 15 games where they had more attempts than the opposition.
Of particular interest are the 3 games in the bottom right hand corner and the 3 games in the bottom middle where Swansea had significantly more attempts but lost 1 (Fulham) and drew the other 5 of these games (Two games each vs. Sunderland and Reading as well as Aston Villa at Home).
The results from any individual game can be a mix of bad finishing, great goalkeeping or 'bad luck' but these kind of games where Swansea have the majority of attempts but fail to win are arguably where a leading striker to compliment Michu could make all the difference.
Equally there will be games such as Fulham away where you could argue we were lucky to get all 3 points.
As mentioned repeatedly, not all attempts are equal and the next level of detail will look at the relative quality of these attempts.
